:lurk
Two things I've seen or not seen :)
My posts that are reply's aren't showing up consistently :)
And the view more emoticons box is popping up really really tiny (not a big deal but thought I'd mention it)
~Angela
Angela - I see that this is the second post you made today that's showing. What other topics have you replied to?
RE: the Emoticon Box
Is anyone running their screen resolution at 800x600?
Tee hee - now you see me, now you don't :lol I can make myself invisible :devil
Oh and the box of emoticons is just the same size for me.
Is the knowledge base an alternative place to the tips and techniques forum? Or can we use it for something else?

Angela - I see that this is the second post you made today that's showing. What other topics have you replied to?
I replied to the *sob* Clapotis *sob* thread and replied to Attaching Buttons thread that I started.
If this message goes through and sticks to this thread then I'm going to assume it was an isolated hiccup... or "unknown user error" on my part :)
~Angela
Beth had a problem with her first Clap thread, deleted it, and started a new one. It was a little confusing right then. ;)
I'm not sure about the other post... Let me know if it happens again.

Michelle,
I like the new green quote color instead of the grey:)

How about, put back Karma thing? That woudl be fun, right?
I think it might be fun, as long as it doesn't turn into a popularity contest. ;)
Added something to the list. :p

What's that?
Nada :hmm
Karma shows now. Users must wait one hour between giving out Karma points.

on posts by people with avatars, if the post isn't long enough to be the same length as the cell on the left, there's a big white box the width of the post cell underneath the poster's sig. if you need a screenshot let me know. it's not that easy to describe!
also, "post reply" instead of quick reply is still slow enough for me as to make it unusable.
Marnie - I've never been able to replicate the Post Reply problem; I've tried w/ a variety of browsers on both Macs and PCs, and it has never been slow for me. I keep an eye out for the prob to try to fix if I ever come across it.
I would like a screenshot of the post and white area if you don't mind. The post area is one cell, so it should all be one color, so I'm a bit confused as to why it isn't.
Thanks!
Marnie--
I wonder if it's the Topic Review section on the Post Reply page that's slowing everything down on your side...
When you go to Post a New Topic, do you have the same slowness problems? I ask b/c it's the same php page for both processes, the main difference being the Topics Review section. I can check for the differences in the template pages.
The Macs I've worked with try to load the whole page before displaying it. Does yours do this?

post new topic is also laggy but not delayed to the point that it's unusable.
both new and post reply are a tad slow for me on other phpBB forums, but never to the point where i literally can't type. this one also wasn't orignially like this. it was with the first maintenance that it started for me. when the forums were introduced it was fine.
safari tries to load the whole page before loading, but explorer and firefox/mozilla do not.
i'll take a screen shot for you right now.

FYI it doesn't happen on firefox (which i'm using at this second) and the edit post page is a decent speed on firefox, too.
Oh Ick. LOL
Thanks for the pic! Maybe I missed a cell. :p
Edit Post doesn't have the Topic Review section, either. I'd like to try to comment that section out this evening when I'm home if you're free and we will see if it makes any difference for you. Maybe there's another way to show the previous posts. I'll research.

i've been poking around in firefox and so far it works really well. it would irritate me to change over to this for one site but i might just do it. it's such a pleasant experience!
one thing i remembered that didn't work before was the "advanced view" of changing your signature. it just worked for me on firefox though the font faces don't show. i see a blank drown down list and when i randomly click in it i get the font face tag but i didn't get to see which font i chose. heh.
it works on safari now, too, but it's sloooooow. didn't get to check the font menu because i clicked on it and it never registered my click.
and i just confirmed. safari does NOT wait for the whole page to load before it starts displaying pieces.
I'm getting the fatal error messages again - wasn't the maintenance meant to fix that?
Thanks, Marnie - I'll work on this stuff when I get home tonight. I switched over to FireFox for home on my Windows XP machine, and I'm really enjoying using it.
Ruth - can you copy and paste the text of the error message you're receiving?

The "profile views" thing is popping up much bigger than it used to be, taking longer to load (why does that pop up anyway? :LOL).

firefox is fine, but safari is more flexible for me.
i'm generally around in the evenings so let me know if you need help.
