Some protocol questions about patterns and soakers

I've been browsing around and see some really nice stuff that everyone has made. I was wondering if those of you who sell soakers make your own patterns or are you licensed from a published pattern? Just wondering how it works. If I see something that I like, Is it OK to ask someone about their pattern and if they would share it, or is that just not done?

I am licensed under Stell's Fern and Faerie pattern.

It's fine here, I think. My pattern is my own. Only took 11 soakers to get it down!

I think if you want to use someone else's pattern for anything, the very first thing youshould do is write them to ask about it.
