Hello! Until last night I hadn't picked up a crochet hook since I was a kid when my Mom taught me how to crochet ponchos for my Barbie doll! I just finished knittin my first soaker - (a very, very basic pattern with lots of mistakes) - and I'd like to crochet a scalloped trim to put around the leg holes. Can someone point me in the right direction on where I can find info on how to do this? Also, would I crochet directly into the soaker, or crochet the trim and THEN attach it?
Thanks for your help, O Wise Ladies of Crochet! :)

I'd recommend crocheting directly into the soaker for the following reasons:
1) It'll be more secure and will probably have fewer gaposis issues and
2) That way you won't have to do a long beginning chain. I HATE doing that! (Also, I think, it's the hardest thing for a beginner to do. It certainly was for me.)
Unfortunately, I don't have any good recommendations on links, because I am such a book collecting type person. If you wanted to borrow a book on it, now, that's another story! :roll

I second Arwyn's suggestion for crcheting directly into the soaker!
Here's another link that might help:

Thanks so much everyone! Last night I remembered that of all people, my MOM knows how to crochet, so she is going to help me with it- and yes, she too said to crochet the trim directly onto the soaker. She was showing me some different crochet stitches last night, and I can see myself getting, umm.... hoooked on another hobby! It was so much quicker than knitting, and fun to see it take shape right before my eyes!
