I'm about to order a bunch of fitteds
I've figured out which ones I want but from my research I believe I can get a better fit using a snappi than having snaps put on my diaper.
Do they catch on your soakers or are they fine to use with soakers?
Come on mamas let me know.....

DON'T use snappis with your wool. That is just asking for trouble. Why do you think you can get a better fit that way? I love snap fitteds and have never had a problem with fit. I have had many problems with snappis, including snagging wool.

I've used pf's snappi'ed under soaker daily without problems. I make sure that pesky bottom 'leg' is secure but I do anyway since Willow has snappi'ed herself to the couch several times.

This is why I asked.
It seemed like snagging may be an issue but since I hadn't used them ever I don't know.
My kids are very straoght bodied and I need a fit that hugs along the top rail all the way around but doesn't then make the leg opening too tight. I"ve used quite a few snapped systems so far and except for that odd week of growing where everything fits perfectly the snap locations leave the legs to tight or too loose. Aplix has always been our savior but we all know wool and velcro are not friends. I was hoping the snappy would be our stand in equalizer.
Anyone else have experience with this?

I haven't really had issues with wool and snappis. As long as the bottom leg is secure, there isn't really a problem.

I use mostly snap fitteds but the few times I have used snappied PFs I haven't had a problem. I can definitly see how it can cause issues if not secured properly or if you are in a rush when taking off the diaper. I say if you are super catious and don't mind if you accidently snag a time or two while getting use to the system you should probably be fine.
OT I don't use velcro on my fitteds but I will be a monkeys uncle if DS doesn't always get attached to random pieces of velcro. Like on a high chair, changing table, etc. DH just doesn't understand why I freak out when I see a lose piece of velcro just hanging around.

This has been my experience too. Andrea snappi'd herself to her mama!
I would rather spend my money on yarn than on snapped diapers. Though I suppose if I had the extra cash I would go for the snap on kind.

Of the two types I'm looking at buying one is the same price with or without snaps and the other is about .75cents more for snaps. Since I'm buying 12 the price difference isn't that much.
hmmmm......
I just don't know.
You snappy/snap users : do you find you get a better fit with snappys or snaps?

I found that using prefolds and a snappi gave me more adjustability than any of my snap diapers (all of those were various fitted diapers)
I think what really makes the difference is how quickly and snuggly you can get the prefold on the baby/child....I think it took my dh quite a while to get the hang of the prefold - so the snaps were always better for him...less room for error.
I prefer snappi'd tots bots or prefolds over any of the snap fastening nappies I have (snap problems same as yours Amy although my babies are chunky so snapped nappies are always tight on the legs :( ). And I've never had a problem with my wool, as everyone else has said it's just the bottom leg that can come adrift so as long as you're aware of it. My dd snappied herself to the carpet the other day lol. She's just started commando crawling and slid off across the floor until the snappi brought her up short

I pretty much use snappi'd prefolds exclusively with my wool and I've never had a problem. Just watch out for the third leg of the snappi when taking the soaker off. HTH :)

You can always cut off the third leg. :ohno

Don't phrase it that way when you tell dh, though. He might freak out until he figures out you are talking about the snappi! :brow

I use pretty much snappis and prefolds exclusively too. I've found the fit to be much better for chubby thighs. Never had a problem.
Thanks for the tip mamapez! The third leg seems so pointless, eh. Off to go cut off the third legs...
...That sounds really weird....

We use snappied prefolds on both girls everyday (we have 2 fitteds in our current size which are our "pretty" diapers.) I've used snappis with prefolds in every size, including premie. Never had a problem with the snappis getting into the wool. I've had them come undone from the diaper and they were carefully taken off the soaker. Just take care with them and you shouldn't have a problem.
With that being said, I double check that the snappi is firmly in place before putting on our wool. My girls are very mobile right now - they're crawling all over the place on their stomachs and knees and still no problems. In fact, our biggest trial is keeping the snappis away from the girls themselves - they're fascinated by them and will go to great lengths to grab one during a change. I would think that an exposed snappi would present more of a snagging hazard than one under a soaker.

I think I"m going to order some EZ-fold and some little beetle to try.
I can't find anyone stateside selling tots bots fitteds. Better Babies used to carry them but our out and don't plan on reordering anytime soon. Do you carry them Ruth? Are there any in the US? spam me please
Not sure if there are any in the US, check their suppliers list on their website www.totsbots.com , if not we do sell them at a discount compared to how much they are direct from tots bots or most other retailers :) They are my favourite nappy out of my (rather large) collection. I like them better than the ez-fold I have too. If you order from us I'll make sure dh only charges you actual postage + packaging cost, put a note on the order that you're from wwf :)
