My first attempts at dyeing with food coloring

Here are my first 3 attempts at dyeing skeins of yarn w/food coloring. The first one is sky blue, lemon yellow & the two mixed. The second one is sky blue, green made w/sky blue & lemon yellow, Xmas red, & violet. The third one is just violet. It's my favorite :)

Thanks guys! I was surprised at how well I liked the colors & how much fun it was to dye stuff. PLus, it was a cheap way to get a fix while I'm waiting for my *real* yarn to arrive. :pink

It just does it itself. The dye separates so when you pour it over the yarn it looks like you've used a bunch of different colors. I did have to make multiple mixtures of dye though b/c when I poured it out the majority of the color came out at the beginning of the pour & most of the yarn didn't get very much dye.
