I am at my parents' house for an unknown duration, Katya is cutting 3 teeth, I miss dh and the water is so different here, when I tried to dye yarn, the color was so inconsistant.
So I decide to see if I would get better results here handpainting.

I think it turned out as well as it would of if I had done it at home. I think it make a difference that I added some kosher salt to my dye. I have very hard water at home, and I think it helps the dye.
So, one happy thing to share.

the yarn is heavy worsted grey Corriedale from Katie at Bungalow Buns. It is really full of lanolin your hands almost feel moisurized after touching it.
dh was going to come and get me yesterday, but he wasn't feeling well, so now I don't know when he'll get here.

I was so wanting to know how the grey overdyed Hillary! It's on my list to send you a skein or two. You read my mind!
What do you call the colorway? (Besides GORGEOUS) It looks similar to Earthy Rainbow...
I hope Vlad comes for you and Katya soon!

well..it started out as Earthy Rainbow, but then I decided to make the repeats not as short, and I threw a bit of chestnut and aztec gold in there as well.
I think the grey overdyed really nice; rich colors.
