I need to replace my addis because the joins have gotten all rough. I know they used to replace them but my lys probably still stocks the old ones with the bad joins. She doesn't sell much, particularly size 2s. I don't want to ask her to replace them. It would surely cost me a long conversation about her general health and family drama of the week etc and I just don't have time lol. I prefer to buy them online while I'm ordering yarn anyway.
so, should I get addis or inox? I like a sharper point if there is a difference.
Anyone?

I like both, honestly, but I think Inox has a "sharper" pont than the addis..that's the only thing I"ve noticed that I like better on the Inox. I love both though..if I could have 3 circs in each size of both brands...now then I'd be set!

Haven't tried Inox. I would like a sharper point than my addis have, maybe I"ll try one. I brought two failing addis back to Ben Franklin craft shop and they swapped em no problem. Good luck!

Doesn't it seem strange that as needles get smaller, the point stay the same? gr....

I agree Inox are sharper. So Addis had bad joins at one point? Because a few of mine have gone wonky with regular knitting.

I think they had a manufacturer change or something and some of them weren't up to par. As I understand it Addi will replace them.
I don't know if that's what is wrong with mine. I do have a toddler you know....
I'm going to order yarn from a site that sells Inox so I'll try em and let you all know.

I use mainly Inox- love 'em! great to work with, easy on budget and the point does seem pretty sharp. atleast it does when Willow steals my needles and I'm trying to get them back.

I had two pairs of Inox's now 1 and 3 pairs of Addi's. I really had'nt noticed the "tip" part of what everyone is mentioning, they seem the same in that area.
I prefer the Addi's, IMO.

ok,
It took me a while to relocate this thread but I thought I'd report on the Inox circs I bought.
I'm really liking them so far. I bought size 2 (my ribbing needles) which turn out to be oh so slightly smaller than addi size 2s. The points are definitely sharper which is a real advantage for picking up along the legholes and was my main reason for trying them. I felt my soakers just a little before knitting the legtrim and sometimes the leghole stitches can get kind of tight. I can see how the pointy ends would cause split stitches in some yarns or for some knitters.
I find that I can knit a firmer ribbing too which is what I needed, although I suppose that could be attributed to the smaller needle size. I think the sharper point makes for tighter ribbing since I work close to the points.
They seem lighter weight if that is possible. It could be my imagination.
I also like the cable which is more flexible and thinner than the addis and seems easier to handle/less prone to kinking and getting in the way. I have not had them long so I can't comment on how they will wear. One does catch a little at the join but my addis do that as well. I don't think they are quite as slick as addis - so perhaps would not be the best choice for speed or soaker bodies.
I wonder if the larger sizes have the same super thin cable. I don't think I would want a very thin cable on a larger needle as the transition would be sure to bug me.
I love that the size is marked on them. I've had to paint my addis with nail polish stripes because the marking have worn away.
so, that's my review. I highly recommend them and love that they are much less expensive. I'm considering another pair so I can keep more than one project on the needles at once.
I bought my Inox ciculars at www.fuzzymabel.com

This is good to hear. I just purchased a set from the yarn co-op yahoo group. They were $3.50 for the 16" US6. I am really looking forward to having the US6 in 16inch, I get so tired of doing magic loop on the both the body and the legs!

I really like my Inox express needles. They're nickel coated like Addis. I really find very little difference between the Inox and the Addis, except the price. The Inox Express are about 1/2 the price. I've used them pretty extensively on my current projects and have noticed no difference in the cable flexibility. I have size 7 and 8 and the cables are identical in size to the Addis. My joins aren't rough - very similiar to the Addis. In these sizes, the points are similiar in size. No noticeable difference. I don't have any of the smaller sizes, so I can't comment on that. I really think the Inox Express are a great option for super slick, well made needles at a fraction of the cost of Addi Turbos.

I really like my Inox, too. I also like the points a lot more on the Inox and you can't beat the price.
I have a question, though. I was in a craft store looking around the other day and I saw the Susan Bates needles (I think that's what they were) and they looked a lot like the Inox.
Am I confused?
