I am making an American Flag afghan. I have the star field completed and am attempting to embroider stars on it. The field was knit from the side. I would have done intarsia stars, but I would like the star to look like a star on both sides. I tried outlining a star, but it doesn't look quite right. The top point either pulls to the left or the right depending on how I attempt it.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I found a five pointed star fridgie to crochet...I'll have to make 100 though. :faint 50 for each side.

I did a soaker with a big star on the butt. That was all I came up with. I think I freehanded it on some graph paper.

I got an object not found error. :( I would love to see your star. Does it show up as a star on both sides?

It helps if I use the correct website ;) The other one is pictures of my kids
No, it was duplicate stitch so it didn't look like a star on the other side... :( I'd think you'd have to do an embroidery stitch... I'm not sure what it's called but long stitches... maybe one of the mamas that did patriotic last year can help?

Your star is cute! I remember when you first posted that last year. :)

Well, I started to crochet a million stars and my hands cramped. Then I thought that crooked stars didn't seem so bad, but the thought of embroidering 50 stars made me want to faint. So now I think I'm going to frog the star field and try again with intarsia. If it looks really horrible on the back, I guess I'll make two star fields and sew them back to back. *sigh* None of the ways seem so great...
