I am working on my pattern. Specificly thigh/leg opening

I find when I plug in the thigh values as measureed I am getting a long looking rise. ie the leg openings are close to the bottom and the rise looks very long..

Does anyone find making the thigh bigger makes for a better fit? I was measuring McKenna's thighs and plugging in that measurement. When I try it on her its long enough int he rise, but the leg openings look funny. almost like she's wearing shorts.

So I theorize if I make the thigh a little bigger it will fit snugger and less 'short-like' and more 'diaper cover-like'

Is this what you have found? How much bigger should the thigh measurement plug-in be in your expirience?

or I guess I could just measure dd's thigh at an angle rather than straight around.

sound right?

My guess is that would only add to the rise issue...I had the same problem with both the WW and FF...here is what I did...

The soaker that fit the best... I started the legs almost an inch before reccomended...I also, was very modest in my rise measurement. However, I docked off two inches off the legs measurement. I know that they say not to do that, but it worked like a charm. I also docked off two inches on the hips and waist, cause I like a snug fit. It fits exactly how I wanted it to. Okay, so you can scrap the docking stuff and just start the legs a bit sooner...

Second option, you can always decrease on the non-decreasing rows. Like, where you purl across, decrease there too. That will make your legs wider sooner, while making them shorter, so less increase in the rise. Not sure how this would work though! Anyone!
