I've been knitting today. :bag I was looking at knitty.com and drooling over all the awesome patterns. There are about a dozen shirts there that I am coveting. So I went to Michael's, got a couple needles and some yarn (yarn was on clearance!) and I've got a few inches done. It is extremely slow going (especially since dh accidently pulled everything off the needles and screwed it up!) but I love how much thinner it is compared to crochet. *sigh*
So, who wants to make bets as to how long this lasts before I get really bored and quit? :nut

Cooooooooooome to the ooooooooother ssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide....
Actually, as I said in the other thread (Knit v. Crochet), I really think they're just totally different arts, with different strengths and ideal for different projects.
I'm totally loving knitting (week 2, soaker 4!), but I think I'll always prefer crochet overall - first love, and all that. :heart
Anyways, if you just pick up a book like Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Knitting or Nicky Epstein's Knitting Embellishments, it'll be a long time 'til you'll actually get bored with knitting. (You may never do a plain soaker again, but you'll never be bored! :LOL )

Patti,
Back now...couldn't escape the family...
I just ordered the embellishments book from Amazon. We'll have to take a peek when it gets here and keep you interested. :nod

I got about 2 1/2 more inches done today. (Is that all?...yep, that's all.) :sigh: But it looks nice. Why did I start a new project? I still haven't finished my grandma's doily (6 rounds to go) and my sister's wedding afghan is only about 5 inches so far. I need to figure out the different sizes for my soaker pattern and then actually write it down. Then try to remember how I made that halter top and write that down. I have no idea how I'm gonna find time for all that in addition to all the non-yarn things I have going on. I really should not have started knitting! :bag And I'm already thinking of what shirt I want to knit next! :scratchc:

I'm a loose woman when it comes to projects. I have faithfulness issues - more like finishing issues. My Dh helps keep me on track. :crud:
