zig-zag stitch?

anybody on this forum know of a good link to learn teh zig zag stitch? Is it the same as a ripple stitch? I really want to make this http://store.nobleknits.com/pelopidr.html without buying a pattern. I thought about trying ot knit it, but crochet just seems to go so much faster.. and I have a few colors of cotton leftover from knitting other summer clothing so I figure I could make it a scrappy dress. Just need to figure out that stitch now!

Here ya go! If you are doing it in the round, I'd probably do the first row flat and then join. Not Really sure how you'd increase, but with some fudging you should be able to get it. ;)
