Hi,

I am new here. I have taken up knitting because I love wool soakers but don't have the cash to buy them. (Don't have the cash to buy the wool either but we will forget about that until dh sees the bank account, ugg).Last week I bought a book, some knitting needles, and some wool and sat down and taught myself how to knit. I have made my first bomb of a soaker so that is now out of my way. I am hoping to learn from all of you as I progress in my knitting skills. I am great at casting on but everything else is up for grabs right now, lol. Mind ya I figured out the stocking knit stitch so I am proud of that. I am really determined to learn how to do this and to make it work for my daughter. If anyone could share tips on economy knitting, I would sure appreciate that.

Hi! :wave
I hope this isn't tacky, but what's PROM? :hide

PROM stands for premature rupture of membranes. Basically I leaked amniotic fluid throughout my last pregnancy. I was told to abort at 13 wks but could not make that decision. They wanted me to abort because I faced the risk of a life threatening infection and all the research out there says the chance of a baby surviving is dismal when membranes rupture that early. We had over 600 people praying all over the world for Hannah. I was in hospital for most of my pregnancy and could not have made it without the support of sidelines.org. I like to tell my story in order to give hope to others who may be facing the same thing. I was fortunate that our little girl has survived with only minor health concerns. I threatened delivery many times throughout the pregnancy but I believe that God stopped the contractions. Funny thing is after all the preterm labour, I was in labour with her for 24 hours and needed the drip to keep my contractions going even while I was pushing. She is truely a blessing and enjoys every minute of life, especially when she gets ahold of my wool, lol. :)
