I want a new serger really badly. Preferrable under $500, but a GOOD machine. NO MORE BROTHER FOR ME!!! :LOL I'm sure they're fine for some people, but I use mine too much and am just constantly frustrated with it.
So, what is a good, reliable, easy to use brand? I'd like something that isn't hard to get serviced or buy needles etc for. TIA

I'm having good luck with my White 1600. Threading can be a pain with sergers, so the next one I'm getting is going to be an autothreader!

Get a Pfaff!!! I will never own another brand of machine! I have the Pfaff 4752, which is the cheapest serger they make and it's one heck of a little work horse. I got my mom the next step up and she actually prefers mine  You can find them used for around 350-400, and sometimes new in a Pfaff dealers for about 500 or so on sale ;)

I've got a babylock that I've had for 4 years or so, bought it for about $300 and I love it! Serges through just about everything, including leather, LOL!
