LOL My dd suggested that name for a soaker/skort. Anyway, here is my first attempt at a skoaker:

and UGH the inside pic isn't working right now!! :getu But the skirt is basically attached right underneath the waistband and knit down from there.

That is adorable! The colorway is neat too.

OK I'm blushing now. The yarn is actually not Manos this time! It's mountain colors, the colorway is called moondance I think. It is a very nice yarn to knit with, but the kind I had was not heavy duty, so it cannot be worn overnight by any means--strictly daytime. I'm going to make the next tester in the same size, but with Manos to see how it looks w/ a bulkier yarn.

OK, yeah, I was thinking about this skirt while trying to fall asleep last night :bag... I HAVE to know how you make pleats in knitting. :LOL

I'm pretty sure there's tons of pleats in Epstein's new edging book (I think it's called Knitting on the edge)
But basically, you just do very long knit repeat ribbing (like, knit 7 or 8, the purl 1) and work fairly frequent increases in teh knit sections. so, work two ros, increase 1 stitch in each knit section (so then it'll be knit 9, purl 1) work two or three more rows, then increase in each knit section (knit 10, purl 1) etc, etc

Ok but it's shamefully easy. Or at least, the ones I did were. Basically, it's a pattern of stockinette stitch w/ a garter stitch to mark the pleat and separate the panels. Then, I did increases every oh...5 rows or so in the stitch before and after each of the garter stitches. Just always keep track of your garter stitch and you're all good :)
