Arrgh!

I'm working on a sweater, I just joined the arms and decided that the needle on the 40" circ is too cumbersome so I went to switch it to a shorter needle and now the stitches are so tight they will not move up the needle. I'm not sure why this is happening. The stitches on the cable aren't large enough to move up the needle.
I have to use my tapestry needle to pull them up, one by one.

Needless to say its been sitting there a week and a half mocking me because I am still too frustrated to pick it up again.

THis might be a dumb question, but are you sure the needles were the same sizes? :hmm

is it the same kind of needle? or did you go from addi to bamboo?

maybe your tension got wacky when you switched needles, like everything got pulled too tight in the whole row. it's a continuing problem?
