I've really been wanting one of those Mimi's Custom Tote bags for my knitting. Until this morning, my knitting has been residing in a canvas Spar bag from when I was living in Austria (regular canvas grocery bag). Which was neither big enough nor organized. I was constantly losing stuff in it, and my yarn kept getting tangled.
Then Grace woke up in the night screaming, and I had to take her to our new rocker to calm her down at 2:30am. While I was sitting there, it occured to me that I had a great knitting bag just hanging around my attic.
Our first diaper bag was a really cute black/tan, over the should tote by Catini. The sucker was HUGE, too - but when I got it loaded down with about 12 diapers, it was so heavy the straps always slipped off my shoulders. So, now I've converted it to knitting duty. It has 2 snap pockets and a central zippered compartment. Each side has a row of mesh pockets of varying size. All are elasticized at the top and some velcro. The velcro pockets are big enough to accomodate a 4oz centerpull ball of yarn. The middle, zippered compartment is great for project storage and has an inner zippered pocket. Right now I have a M pair of pants in there, & they take up about 1/3 of the space.
So maybe it's not perfect, but I think it will be much better than what I have been using and certianly has a lot of space!!! Plus, it's $30. That's a decent price.
