Hey I hope this is the right place for this topic.
I just went to my local goodwill (its in a GOOD neighborhood so theres LOTS of fine wool things) Anyway...I came away with 4 BEAUTIFUL 100% wool sweaters. 2 of them are a fine italian merino...all with really great color and design. Im gonna turn these suckers into butt sweaters. I've got 2 in the 3rd wash cycle right now...shrunk down to nice thick delicious soaker raw material. Does anyone else here do this? I'm having so much fun...if they sell when im done, i may just have found myself a new hobby...LOL

If I get my booty in gear I will post a picture of my "felted" sweater and offer if up for someone...in exchange for postage perhaps...

Ive done it to a few but both of my sewing machines are broken(and have been since I got them) so everything is sewn by hand, so I only have 1 completed

Oh, after tonight, its definitely gonna be HAND sewn butt sweaters for me...getting the layers underneath my presser foot is absolutely NOT happening. LOLIts ok tho...I think using yarn to sew them will look better anyhow. I just cant get over how much these things shrink! I'm talking a 3X mans sweater...down to a child size...4 or 5 t MAYBE. wow!

OK I got an awesome old navy sweater on clearance. I've cycled the thing like 6 times and though it feels soft at first after about a minute and a half on it goes all itchy. is there anything
I can DO to it? or am I looking at a future purse?

You don't have to felt it all the way for it to work well.
Sorry, Amy. No clue.
Is anyone doing pants from the sleeves? I still haven't tried that, although I think the patterned ones turn out pretty cute.
