I have a knitted beaded bracelet that I started months ago. I used to be a beader, and I'm sort of a new knitter, so I thought it would be the perfect crossover. It's NOT fun though! I had to thread all the beads on to the thin cotton yarn, and I'm using size 0000 needles. They're practically invisible to the naked eye!
What did I get myself into!? :bang
Anyone else foolish enough to do this? :)

You can do beaded knitting with any size needles. I have been able to put beads onto fisherman's. I personally am not wildly fond of putting the beads onto the yarn. However, I think beaded knitting is absolutely gorgeous!!!!. Will you post a pict at some point, Abigail? I would love to see what you are making.

I'm doing seed beads (11s, if you know anything about bead sizes) on thin thread. I should actually pick it up again, because I've set it aside and been hoping that it would knit itself.
Yes, I will post a picture when/if I get anywhere on it. :)

Sounds really neat abigail. Yes, I do know the size of seed beads (teeeeennnyyy) and I have seen those types of bracelets....I would honestly love to try something like that...hmmmmm......I had a friend that would knit little purses with the seed beads-very vintage looking and gorgeous.

This is definitely one of those projects I would only take on if I was selling it for a HUGE sum of money :LOL Seed beeds scare me...waaaaaay to small.

Well, beading used to be my craft of choice. (You can see the evidence here (http://www.abigailvr.net/beading.html).) I figured that once I learned to knit, this would be a good way to blend the two. Pretty, yes, fun, not really. :sigh:

Thanks Beth! I actually wanted to learn to knit so I could make an knitted beaded bag to carry on my wedding day. It never happened, but it would have been so pretty if it had!
