On how many are in here? 11w6d give or take 2-3 days ;)
No U/S, and last midwife's appt. was still too early to get a heartbeat, so we don't know if there's more than one ;)

Awww, what a cute bump you have! How many little ones do you have now? With number 3, as soon as I thought about getting pregnant, my belly popped.

This is #3, we're thinking it's the weird third pregnancy thing, but there's still that irrational fear "what if there's more than one?!?!?!?!" in my head

Awww... it's so cute!!! If it makes you feel better, this is #3 for me, too, and I started really showing by like 6 weeks. I've been wearing mat. shirts since 6-8 weeks. Now, I'm 16 weeks and look 6 months or so. It seems to be slowing down a bit, although last MW appt I was measuring 2wks ahead of "my" (not OB or LMP or u/s) due date. So, who really knows. Would you be excited with twins? That would be fun and scary as all get out.

At my 9.5 week appt I was measuring almost 13 weeks. So I"m measuring at least 3 weeks bigger than I "should" be, and since this babe was planned we aren't off on the dates ;)

I think it's just one ;) I'm going to try to dig up my very early preggo pics of greg (my 3rd, too) for you, cause the size you are now at 11 weeks is what I was at 6 weeks! We were convinced there were two babies in there, took three ultrasounds before I really believed it was just Macgregor, LOL.

 I think it's just one as well...but again, that paranoid, "OMG what if it's two?!?!" is in the back of my head

You look great!

I am getting a twin vibe-- identicals if they are twins, but I also think it might be just one preparing a roomy environment for herself . . . .

Awww! I'm so jealous, waa. Very cute belly. I always measured at least 6 weeks bigger with my first and 8 or 9 weeks bigger with my second...I'm going to find a pic of me at 12 wks. I was embarrassingly huge. Would you like twins? I would not, lol!

FabriConnection

I always looked bigger, but didn't ever measure bigger until around 32+ weeks, and then it was usually only about 2 weeks bigger. My uterus was always "right" where it should be measuring in early pregnancy, but not with this one.

I do think it's twins. You are so slender that that bump is not anything but baby! I gained a ton of weight/showed early with my first two, but I was larger to begin with, so I am sure that accounts for my early bump. Either that or your uterus is tipped way forward! Can you feel where your fundus is? Is it way up above your pubic bone?

FabriConnection
12-22-2004, 10:18 AM
I can't feel it, and it's not tipped forward ;) But at 9.5 weeks it was like 2" below my belly button, WAY up there

I think it's one baby. I don't know why.

When I was preggo with the girlies, I just started showing around 3 1/2 months. Up until that point, you couldn't even tell! (I was so disappointed...I'm having freaking twins and you can't even tell!!!!) But at the end, OMG I was so pregnant, it should have been illegal. I look at pics taken 2 weeks before the girls were born, and it looks fake, I was so big.

But that is the cutest pictures of you in front of your Christmas tree! Save it!

Oh, and it's nearly impossible to "diagnose" twins doplar alone. 1/2 the time they couldn't find "both" heartbeats, or they were so close together it was impossible to tell one from the other. (And they checked heartbeats every week for the last 4 months.) Ultrasound is the best way to tell.

Now I'm all nervous and excited to know if you're having twins. Maybe I should place my bet on your "Mommy Intuition". Let us know if you have an ultrasound!!!! :)

How many finger widths either above or below your belly button is your fundus? You're 12 weeks right?

At 12 weeks, the fundus should be about level with your pubic bone. At 20 weeks it is usually at the belly button. Where do you fall in that catagory? I think that's a better indicator of if you are "showing" more or less than usual--cause all of our bodies react differently to the expanding uterus, kwim?

Ok, this was me at about 5-6 weeks, the belly looks a little bigger than it was b/c of the angle of my body ;)

Ignore the horrible color, took it in the bathroom without the flash

Oh I know my fundus is higer than it should be, it measured 12.5 at my appt at 9.5 weeks, where it should have been 9-10 ;) I"m not just showing big, I'm measuring big, I believe it was about 2-3 fingers below my belly button at that 9.5 week appt., I was shocked, and the MW kept asking if we were SURE on the dates  I"ll have to squish around and see where it is now

I am loving living vicariously through the two preggos here! I did pop right away with number 3, but I don't ever get really big anyway. Jess, you mentioned your horrible morning sickness, right? Could be...

ravingcutie
12-23-2004, 08:46 AM
Jess, have you had your HCG levels checked? If it's twins, it should be sky high - both are secreting the hormone. They were really worried about my progesterone levels at the beginning of my pregnancy, and when they checked HCG, found it to be "abonormally high" very early on.

Extra morning sickness can be a sign of a multiple pg - but that's kinda hard to tell.....
