Last night I finished a scarf- intended as a gift for one of Ds' teachers....Well, I was really proud of it.....Used a variation of the scarf pattern I was knitting up for Theresa.....

Dh picked it up this moring....And I saw a 3 stitch two row area I screwed up the pattern in....Now my ends aren't woven in so I was thinking I could just drop two or three stitched down and fix.....But when I looked closer these are pretty much smack dab in the center of the d*&^ thing ...and it is probably 6 feet long...I don't think I can drop back that many rows and pick it back up and still have it look good.....

I am thinking that probalby only a knitter would even notice the mistake. Basically, the scarf has a shaker rib and on about 3 stitches in one area I didn't make the correct stitch...so I have a purl where there shouldn't be one...

Also, does anyone know why MY shaker rib rolls to the wrong side? I have knit one scarf with a bulky wool and one with Red heart (yuck but getting rid of my stash) And they both curl....Even the second one where I did a garter stitch border rolls in.....Any ideas, Ladies?

Well I wouldn't fix it, I would just leave it and give it to her. I bet she won't even notice. But if she did happen to notice I bet she would be so happy to be receiving a hand made scarf that she could care less for a small imperfection.

can you hide the imperfection with some embroidery? Little flower?

I don't think she will even notice! I say give it to her as is. :)

Well the only thing I didn't count on is my son telling her there is a mistake! He already told her I was making her a scarf...

I am thinking maybe I could duplicate stitch to correct it.
