Will someone please tell me what the correct spelling is? I've been wondering for several days, and it's starting to drive me nuts.
Please enlighten me to the spelling of this holiday! Thank-you!

most commonly in English we use Hanukkah, Channukah and Chanukah. there are 16 "correct" English spellings.

Happy Chanukkah!
I have a Chanukkah rant.
We moved to a small town last year and are one of two Jewish families, and my dh doesn't want to put the menorrah in the window cuz he doesn't want to "advertise" being Jewish. This makes me sad.
And in the meantime we carry our baby around in tzitzit, so it is also illogical thinking.
And I'm putting it in the window anyway! And I also adore my dh more than anyone else in the world.
(I think he lurks around here sometimes)

Put it in the window proudly. I bet with only 2 Jewish families the town will just think you have unusal Christmas decorations!!!
We are Catholic and my kids want a menorrah....Hmmm, wonder what Santa will do if they ask for that?
(I think he lurks around here sometimes)
I'm sure my DH does too LOL I think he want's to know what we're up to that keeps me so interested :decision .
Perhaps he's just worried that you're all leading me astray by persuading me I need more wool.
I really don't need more wool.
Anyway, hope you all have a lovely hanukka.
Warm feelings,

Happy Chanukah!
DH is (non-practicing :) ) Jewish but still enjoys the holiday, especially since his bday is Saturday!

For my Sunday party, I'm making these:
Cumin-scented beet latkes with celery & cilantro relish
Gingered carrot latkes with apple, green onion, and jalapeno salsa
and the traditional potato ones with sour cream and applesauce
Out of this month's bon appetitit!

Oh, now that would just be too cute
I meant Levi wears them and I don't tuck them into his longies because that would be gross :moon

Happy Channukah! menorah
My attempt at latkes, tasted fine, but was a failure, as all the yummy crispy brown part stayed in the pan. :( Oh well.

It would be so wonderful to have all of you over for Chanukah. Anyone who's up for a drive to the middle of the prairie (Champaign) is welcome to attend.

This is off topic, but do you guys have the oybaby c.d.? Eleanor loves it and listens to it every day, and sings every song word for word. It's the best Jewish kid songs I have found to date. The sisters who sing it grew up in my temple too :thumb
