looking for kool-aid on ebay I came across these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63852&item=6726071 114&rd=1
there are several other auctions for similar purses
wth? Is this the latest trend? I haven't been the the mall in awhile; are all the high school and college girls slinging these on there shoulders nest to the fun fur scarves?
anybody seen these in public :balloon

yes it seems to be. I have a purse made from some juice product from the Phillipines.... got it about 2 years ago, and hadn't seen them until the Kool Aid purses submerged. I saw a TON of them at the last craft show I was at.

I had a purse like that when I was 10! Made from capri suns with holes punched in them and big yarn sewn through and then braided for the handle. I guess I was 15 years cooler than everyone. :moon

This reminds me of the Pepsi can hats from when I was younger...IIRC the cans were cut in half and punches and crocheted together ......
I don't know if this reuse/recycle thing is going a bit too far....particularly for products I wouldn't use...why would I want to carry them around as walking ads?

My purse was with the capri sun writing on the inside. It was a shiny silvery pretty purse. Loved it. I wonder if my Mom still has that...
ETA: I got them out of the school cafeteria garbage. Better than the landfill.

My friend (who has since moved) has one, I thought it was very cute and a great idea. I would love to have one but I can't see diapers or knitting stuff fitting into something so small, or I would get one for myself for Christmas. Yes, I drink the stuff. I drink the stuff a lot, it's better than soda and 80% of the juices out there.
This defintily should go in the category with Hello Kitty and pacifiers a lot of High School girls were/are carrying around. Very trendy and you probably won't see them much in a year or two.

I saw a lady at the grocery store with one last week, she was around 30, so I guess not just young ladies are buying them. Personally I don't like them but I am sure they would be a hit with the younger crowd.

I wonder if I could make them out of juicy juice boxes - since those are about the only ones I can find that aren't laden with extra sugar......and with only 10% fruit juice in many of the pouches I just can't see the reason to get them......

It looks like you could make them out of just about anything...
