So, the ant pile that has been moving around our yard for the past three years consists of fire ants. DS found out the hard way. Needless to say he now has bites which turned into blisters, and he is not very happy (the blistering is normal, not an allergic reaction).
My bright idea was to soak the pants in water to kill the ants and I could rise them off... well bad idea. If anyone gets mass ants on wool knit pants just hang them or lay them somewhere and the ants will crawl off of them. DON'T soak them in water. The ants don't die but if they do it is super hard to get them off. I spent about an hour picking off fire ants with paper towels, I am very scard of bugs, so I couldn't use my hands. And about half the ants were still alive after a full day of soaking.
Anyways, not a fun day.
