Thank you Mr. President Bush for making this day harder than it already is.

Thank you for making me late for work because the streets are closed off and we had to take alternate routes.

Thank you for making my feet hurt for walking so much in these new boots.

Thank you for making me wonder what time I will get home tonight as our normally quiet downtown core is blocked off until 9pm.

Thank you for adding all the loud helicopters and special fighter jets in the airspace right above my head.

Thank you for the added worry of being trampled by angry protesters as I try to get out the door tonight.

Thank you.

Nada - who is working 2 blocks from where Mr. President Bush is meeting with our Prime Minister Paul Martin in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

BTW, this is meant to be a personal whine, not a political statement

Sorry you are having a bad day Nada! Don't worry he'll be gone soon!

This is not a policitcal statement either, simply a pick me up for Miss Nada who is currently besieged by the secret service!!!!

LOL I heard about his visit on the radio this morning, Nada--but lucky you gets to deal with the reality of it. Hope your trip home is easier than your trip to work.

He came to visit here a few years ago (well Raleigh where I was going to school at the time). I had no clue and on my way home I got off of the freeway at my exit and I saw all these cars driving the wrong way or reversing off the exit. The traffic was completely stopped. I sat there for about an hour before the news stated it could be another hour or more before the traffic started moving again. So I... like many others, turned around and took an alternate route. It really sucked.

As for the jets and helicopters, we have F15s flying over all the time (being at we live on an air force base) but after almost 4 years I don't hear them any more. LOL DH will wake up and ask me if they are flying today (no flying = less work for him) and I can never tell. ;)
