Totally off topic...

Do any WAHMs create their own banner ads? I can manage to create my own frames, but I know that you need some sort of program to compile the frames. Is there inexpensive software out there that does this?

Thanks!!!

Try GifBuilder.

this is the OS X version, you can find the OS 9/classic version on versiontracker.com if you need it.

this was THE Gif animation tool for the longest time. it still works, is very simple, and is free.

I use photoshop elements (cheaper/simpler version of photoshop). So I would think if you have photoshop that you would be able to do it. Let me know if you need more info. You can find photoshop elements for ~$60 at Costco.

nope, marnie's right, you need image ready to make the aminated gif, can't jsut do it with photoshop. You build the frames (as layers) in photoshop, then jump to image ready. Susan, if you've got all the frames/layers, you can email them to me and I'll do it in image ready for you, it's super quick and easy to do. Just make sure you LMK how many seconds you want each frame to run for :)

email is theresa @ littleturtleknits . com

Hmm.. in photoshop elements, there is a save for web option. And then a save for animation option in there where you specify seconds for each frame.

photoshop elements is a consumer-level software that does a little of everything in the professional suite, but not all of the complete functions of each individual piece of suite.

I have fireworks and can animate your layers for you - no charge. ;) All you have to do is specify how long you want each frame to show. :)

Wow! Thanks Theresa and Amy for being so generous! I don't have a banner right now (as I paid for the one that is running at this forum), but I was thinking ahead for my next banner. I'm going to look into the freeware that Marnie posted (thanks Marnie!) to see if I can do it myself, but I will definitely take you up on your offers if I need the help!!

Thanks again! :mwah
