We were visiting friends who just found out that they are expecting. They have a brand new house that they bought in March with very light tan carpeting...can you see where this is going? :goodgrief I was sitting by my friend talking about morning sickness and knitting when my dd says that ds pooped. And sure enough, he walked up to me and boy did he stink. So I get up, wet some wipes, get out his new dipe...all the while he is walking around following me around on their nice carpet. So I sit down on the floor to change him and notice there is some yellow liquid all over his shoes...what the heck did he step in??? I look up his pant leg (his dicey pants) and see that he has diarreah...all down his legs. Sheesh. I look around and don't see any on the floor near me, so I figure everything is ok. As I'm finishing changing him, my friend asks her brother what's on the floor in the hallway. He leans over to look down the hallway and yells "IT'S POOP!" :faint I look over and see a big wet pile of yellow liquid with some popcorn here and there. ick. Great way to get my preggo friend sold on cloth diapers, huh? So I get ds all changed and then work on cleaning up all the poo, which was trailed all over the living room and hallway and kitchen. She didn't say anything, but she won't even let people in her house with shoes on, so I'm sure she wasn't too happy about it.

I'm glad we left her house when we did cause ds continued to have diarreah that evening and we had several poop puddles going on. *sigh* He finally fell asleep at 12:30am and just as I was going to lay him down in bed he started to gag. I immediately sat him up cause I didn't want him to inhale anything. He threw up soooo much. He was covered in it, I was covered in it...luckily though (luckily? lol) I had had dh lay a towel on the bed in case of more diarreah, so the vomit didn't actually get on our bed. So, ds and I went to take a bath and he was wide awake for another hour. He never vomited again after that, but has had more diarreah. I've had to wash another pair of longies today. You'd think I'd learn. :violin

Then yesterday, I was at my sister's house while dh went to play xbox all day at a friend's house. Dd starts to complain about a stomach ache and spends the next 6 hours straight vomiting every 15 minutes. My sister is so freakin' awesome. She didn't care about any mess that was made and she washed about 3 loads of towels while we were there. Dd passed out after that and stayed out till 5am this morning when she woke asking for water. I gave her some and she downed the entire cup of it then proceeded to tell me that she felt all better and that she was "very happy now." ;) I couldn't get her to stop talking and go back to sleep for about another hour in which she drank another full cup of water and nursed.

Today dh has been vomiting and sleeping all day. Please hope that I will be spared. :faint

Oh Patti, that sounds like a terrible bug!!! I'm sorry about your friend's carpeting, but hey, what a way to initiate her into motherhood! :)

I hope you stay well.

Oh Patti! Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't get it :fingersx:

I know what you mean about selling people on cloth, especially wool. It seems like every time I have dd in a cute wool soaker, she decides to pee like she's never peed before and it goes right through the soaker on to someones lap :goodgrief

Great way to sell them on cloth, huh?

Hope everyone feels better soon!

Icky! Hope your family is doing better.

My biggest "selling point" on cloth is the fact that they absorb (aposed to pooling) poop and that I have only once had a blow out. And that was after 4 days of no poop at 3 months, when DS was usually pooping 1 - 2 times a day, all this when we were going to visit family in CA and the first time we got to spend time with my mom since DS was born. Anywho, I never even realized that diarea pools up in sposies and you have to becareful not to spill it on the way to the trash. Ewwwww.

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes but it's late (or I should say early) and my mind isn't working so well.

:hug Oh man, Patti! That sucks. And here I was going to say we should get together today...maybe I'll wait a few more days.

I hope your friend is able to handle it okay, and realizes that it is just the beginning...

And I hope you are all feeling better soon. :mwah

Glad you're all feeling better. I remember once I went to meet a mom at her house and was bragging about how much I loved cloth. Unfortunately dh had dressed Brody before we left and didn't snap the wonderoo tight at ALL so he peed out his diaper and through his pants. Yeah, nice.

Poor Patti! Sorry to hear about that bug - it sounds terrible. I'm sure your friend will forgive you the first time her babe poops/pees/vomits etc somewhere public! lol
