Dumb question, but I've never tried knitting with circular needles before, will the pattern explain how to do it? Is it a beginner-type pattern? Or should I start with something easier?

Knitting with circular needles is very easy. I don't know how much the pattern talks about it, but if you do have trouble (which you shouldn't), you can always post on the forums. Really, it's just like knitting except you never have to stop and turn. You just knit, knit, knit, and you get great stockinette stitch.

What size does the wonderpants cargo pattern go up too? I have two kids out of diapers but just love the idea of knitting cargo shorts for them! :thumb

I don't remember exactly, but I do know that it has options for customizing the rise. Most kids grow more in the rise than they do in the waist. You could always add a few stitches to the waist if you needed to. I think this pattern is very easy to customize.

I added about an inch to the rise of a M/L for my dd as she measured exactly for the M/L ...so with room to grow a bit I wanted some extra length (She is soooo trim that I was afraid if I made the xl she would be swimming in it.)

I made the waistband a bit bigger and just added 1/2 and inch to the length measurements....if it said "knit until 6 inches I knit to 6 1/2"

I am VERY pleased with the results!!! I am plotting to make more even though my dd is nearly potty trained. (I think her beautiful soakers may be luring her to stay in diapers though.) :lol:
