weird gauge results with Cascade 220

In the past when knitting with Cascade 220 it worked up heavier than fisherman's. It says 4.5 sts/inch on size 8s. I'm getting five plus stitches per inch.

What's the deal? Did I just get a super thin skein? Is there so much variation in the quality of this product?

I wanted to use it for my heavyweight shorts pattern. Now I gotta do it on Sevens for my thin weight pattern.

I've always had 5/in on 7s. I've never noticed any variations at all. i think i've used about 9 different skeins, all different colors.

very odd. where'd you buy it?

I have it at 5 on 7s too.

A while ago i made an EWS in cascade 220 adn it came out so much bigger than fisherman's. I wonder why.

I get 5st/in on 5's with C220.
