I would love to, but don't think I can afford it right now. :( Story of my life, huh? But I bought paint for my bedroom. :D Can't have it all ugly if I'm gonna have a baby in there.
ME!!!
Dh is encouraging me to do it, I love embellishing!

Sadly (so very sadly) no. I cannot afford it and I won't have time with all the dyeing and knitting and felting (and breatfeeding, cleaning, cooking and laundry!) I have to do before christmas.
Hopefully she will offer another class soon in the new year!! Please?

I really, really want to but I'm going to be too busy knitting all these darn Charlotte's Web shawls for my 5 sister's and mom's christmas presents... :faint
I hope she offers it again, because um....let's just say I could really use a class on embroidery, lol...

I'm gonna take it. Do we need to have a plain soaker or piece of knitting to embellish? I'm so excited!

I recommend a "practice" piece and your final piece to be embellished, but all you really need something to practice on. You can even use your final piece as your practice piece as long as you're careful about ripping out the embroidery. You can always embellish a finished item after the class is over :)

Cool. I have a ton of Paton's Merino sitting around here. Maybe I'll whip up a soaker. I can't wait to get started. I'm having dreams of embroidering the Mona Lisa on my baby's bum.

Oh, I thought the class was $50, for some odd reason. No clue where that came from :hmm
Anyway, I worked things out and now I can take the class. :D Whoopie!!!

ooo I really really want to find a way to take it. When is the deadline for signing up? If I can sell enough stuff to afford it, maybe I can justify it if one of my homework pieces is for somebody's xmas present.

Hmmmm.....I actually didn't think of it. How about I work something out and I'll let you know. And if any members signed up already, I'll extend the same offer to you :)
But you will get free shipping on any yarn orders (incl tapestry yarn) over $5 ;)

I'm thinking of it now... I can do all the stitches, it's just putting it all together (designing something to embellish) that I would want to learn. Is that something I would lean how to do?

Yes, we will be reviewing how to layout your design on knitters graph paper and walking through step by step on how to put it all together :)

I am interested in taking this class but I have a really silly question. Is this class done over the internet as we all don't live in the same country?
How do we now what colours of the tapestry yarn to order for the class?

yep it is an on-line class...I believe Susan said that lessons will be posted every Friday for 3 weeks. I also think there will be a forum and live chats too.....
I just need to run the expenditure by my Dh ...I think I will tell him it is this or I buy more yarn....He will say yes just to avoid more yarn in the house. (won't tell him about the tapestry yarn though)

Jewel, I have not purchased any tapestry yarn yet. My impression was that the lesson would be posted on Friday and you have till the next Friday to complete your assignment. I figured I would just wait till the first class to find out what supplies I needed since my local yarn shop carries tapestry wool. :)

Hi Jewel, the class will be posted on the internet on Fridays and you have the whole week to complete the assignment. You won't need your final colors of tapestry yarn until the third week of class, because the first two weeks are where you will actually learn how to do the stitches and practice :)
