ARGH! I'm at my wits end here. I've spent the past two months working on this throw for my Aunt for Christmas. It's made from Lion's brand Homespun yarn (yeah, I know - not the best - but it was on sale, I needed quite a bit, and I'm BROKE! LOL) held together with a strand of really pretty variegated blue and purple chenille yarn. The problem is, even though I THOUGHT I was keeping an even tension, when I laid it out and took a good look at it there are all these places where the chenille yarn is making big ugly loops, like I did'nt hold it tight enough. You can really see in the section with the blue yarn, but it's there in the purple as well. (Oh, and for some reason it really didn't photograph well - there is a lot more variegation in person, and it looks a lot prettier! LOL

Anyway, is there anything I can do to save it? It is quite large at this point, and I doubt I'd have time to re-do it before the holidays. I'm just sick about this. WAH!

um, brace yourself. Get a box of tissues and have a seat.

it's got nothing to do with how you knit. no amount of even tension will change what happened. It's called worming, and chenielle is nefarious for doing it. The cheaper stuff is the worst. It's just slippery and it's natural state is to want to get as free as possible, so it slips and slides out. You can wet it and block it to get it back to shape, but it will happenea gain within a few weeks.

I'm sorry. It sucks, big time. The only cheneille I've ever used that doesn't do this is crystal palace cotton chenille and henry's attic chenilles.
