okay what is you expert opinion...I need to make (right now) my father a hat (peace fleece hemlock, worsted) none of the free online patterns give any gauge at all. I want to make it in k4p4 ribbing. all the patterns use size 7 circulars and I only have size six. all patterns say cast on 88. Should I cast on 96? Or would that be too freakishly huge? He is an average size man.

Thank you

ah-ha thank you! :mwah

It would be such a shame if Dad's bald head froze on his 60th birthday :mwah
