I think y'all should go for it. Let me know if you want any help setting it up! (I'm the mod for this forum, and can post sticky notes, etc.)

Yes, I was feeling really left out. :stern: Just kiddin' :mwah
k - let's do this! Any suggestions for a project? I'm thinking something small that won't take too long.

Well, I got started on that three strand rug the other night, mostly 'cause I didn't have the right size needles to start on either the tart hat or the EWS, and I think I've become physically or psychically incapable of watching the tv without having something in my hands (and I'd rather it not be food, KWIM? :LOL ). So I started it, and it's fun and going fast, but I'm so not sure of my ability to keep it up without some of the WoolyWonder.com Forums' infamous Knit(-or-Crochet)-A-Long Peer Pressure.
So I'm counting on you all to bug me about it every couple of days, so it doesn't get abandoned and wind up back in the twisted mess of a yarn maze I call my storage bin!

k, consider yourself bugged! :D
I guess I'll start a thread in a day or two for us hookers to pick a project that we need pressuring to get done. ;)

Any pattern suggestions yet?

I've been looking - I've got a few on my wordpad - need more time though - hopefully the kids will nap soon!

Here are a few patterns I found:
http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=1182
http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=161 - I think I like this one best
http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/lionbrand/index.fcgi?page=http://www.lionbrand.com/content-crochetPatternIndex.html - it's the "Tu-tu Onesy and Hat" at the bottom of the page
http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=e02068&categoryid=29
Any other ideas? Like any of these?
Arwyn

Definitely not the Tu-Tu Onesie (although maybe the hat) - I have yet to successfully complete ANY full garments, adult-size or otherwise (unless you count soakers)! I'd be more into this one: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=186 It's more interesting than the hats (to me, anyway), but more doable than something as big as the onesie.
But that's just my :two !

Oohh, yes! Another hat, need more hats, and especially ones without k3 together!!! :irked
I especially like:
"Baby's Toque to cochet
Simple crochet baby toque, great first project for a new crocheter."
...as I am a new crocheter! :sigh:

I love the rug. I know I'm in the minority, & my husband would hate it, but it looks like fun! :pink

I like that rug too! It's super cute! k, i like them all, and everyone else likes something different! How are we gonna work this? (I'm horribly indecisive when it comes to picking projects.)

Maybe start with the hat, so newbies like me can get their feet wet, and then do the rug next? I'm guessing the hat will be super quick.
OR...we can be overachievers and do both! THAT will show the knitting folks what crochet is all about! ;)

:LOL You are :crazy ! You can go ahead and do both, but I have a bigillion other things I gotta do, and only three naptimes in one day - and if I'm lucky they're an hour each. ;)
K, is everyone cool with the hat?...Arwyn, how's that rug? :bigups:

You have 3 hours of naptime a day? I would kill for that much time!
dandelions2
07-12-2004, 05:43 PM
Well, I don't get the full three hours do to as I please. Ds doesn't let me do anything at all when he's awake. So as soon as he's sleeping I gotta nurse dd (sometimes put her down for a nap - and by the time she's asleep I get 15 minutes till he's up again), clean up, take a shower, etc....so not much craft time left. It was nice when they were a bit younger and would take 2 hour naps at the same time each day. How I loved those quiet afternoons....*sigh*

Wait a minute! I thought you said crochet was super fast!!! What happened to all that hooker confidence?!? ;)
dandelions2
07-12-2004, 08:40 PM
It is fast, but I can't possibly start another project - it'd be insane!!! I don't even know how many I have going right now....let me go count...*gets up from desk and cruises around the house checking closets, under the bed, behind the sofa, then comes back to the puter*....the grand total is (drum roll, please) :juggle 14! And that's not counting any projects that I have less than two inches done on. :faint
*I have a cardigan that I started for myself - got the whole front done, but ran out of yarn and Michael's decided to quit carrying it. :irked
*scarf for hubby - half done
*stained glass looking afghan that is more than half done (it looks really cool)
*Daisy blanket - done in squares - I think I have 30 squares done - halfway there
*A baby blanket for ds - done except for the argyle print that I'm cross-stitching on it (BORING!!!)
*an afghan for my sister's wedding - about 5 inches done
*doily for g'ma's 80th b-day - 6 rounds left!
*doily for myself - half done
*jacket - 6 inches done
*tank top - this is my only knit project! :knit I've got 9 inches of the front done
*my soaker pattern - need to decide on the different sizes and write it down
*a baby bunting (originally for dd - then meant for ds - never finished more than the yoke)
*infant layette - the jacket, hat, and one bootie are done - just one bootie to go
*that halter top pattern for arwyn cause she's gonna bug me till I get it written down!
And let's add to this list whatever we're gonna do for the crochet-along. Do I have too much going on? Do you think I have a problem with committment? :sigh:

Yikes!
You've got me beat. I guess I will have to do the crochet along for you. :) Good practice for a newbie like me (if you can handle owning something that has rookie written all over it). :D

Oh, don't get me wrong - I wanna do the crochet-along (if it's something small and quick I can put my myriad of projects aside for a bit) ;)
But I also wouldn't mind something from a newbie! :inlove:

I got my yarn today. I got Lion Brand Cotton-Ease. I'm gonna make the main part of the hat popsicle blue and the trim is gonna be pistachio. :D
Anyone else get their yarn? I'm gonna start a new thread for this now.
