What would you recommend? I have been approached by another WAHM about knitting a thicker (med to heavy) acrylic soaker. What would be good yarn for that?

ETA: I am thinking in an Aran weight. I suppose I just answered my own ?

Don't laugh @ me when I tell you what I use. The el cheapo Red Heart acrylic - worsted weight. It makes a pretty nice soaker, especially when washed. It's not too thick, but effective for daytime use. I wouldn't use an acrylic soaker at night because of the fact that it won't absorb once the diaper is saturated. The Red Heart softens up once it's been washed a few times. I wonder what kind of results you would get with two strands of baby-weight acrylic. It might be softer too.

I was looking at baby weight and thinking the same thing. I also found aran weight acrylic by Paton's (I think). I will have to check to see if this is intended for night use ( I can't think that it will be....)
