My uncle picked out some funky orange wool/mohair boucle and I am about a month behind for his b-day gift.

There is an Ann Norling pattern #41 by Connie James of the Yarn Connection that uses any yarn, any size. And is customizable for different styles (edging and top both).

Pretty cool pattern :D

Maybe not what you are going for though...
