These were the wraps I made on the purling side! So, I took pics, but a couple of them were cut off, so you'll just have to trust me.
Now, the wrap is to the right of the stitch. Lift it up onto the LH needle, so that it is infront of the stitch. In the pic, the wraois white, the stitch is brown.

Now ktbl the wrap and the stitch.

Jiggle it around so that the stitch is on top of the wrap.
Here it is a couple rounds later.

That little twist is the only indication something has happened there!
This is the back, just the tiniest extra loop.

Better pic, with the stitch circled

And one more

Please excuse the dyed thumb. Please excuse the weird pics, I was trying to get close ups.

You are a goddess, Cass. I'm about to cast on so I'm definitely gonna be trying this. I shall dutifully report back. :LOL
Cass, I hope you do not mind if I ask you a clarifying question:
<<Now, the wrap is to the right of the stitch. Lift it up onto the LH needle, so that it is infront of the stitch. In the pic, the wraois white, the stitch is brown.>>
I am confused as to there you lifted the wrap to on the LH needle. It began to the right of the stitch? Or to the left?
:pink :pink Thanks, mama
But I am glad you got it!!!!! :devil :juggle :devil :juggle

the wrap was to the left of the stitch, a purl row wrap.

I tried this last night twice and it worked. I will see if the macro on my camera will work....right now it is turning off every time i try to take a picture (batteries gone AGAIN!)

does the original brown stitch wind up twisted? Could we reverse it on the needle before KTBL?

OK, cass, you are such a goddess... but I'm confused as to how you lift the wrap up on the LH needle too. In your orig post you said it was on the right of the stitch, then later you said it's on the left.. it should be on the right, correct? and you lift it up and next to the stitch it was wrapping on the LH needle? and then while you're k2tbl, you wiggle the STITCH, not the wrap, on top?
oh, and i'll be ordering that yarn from you as soon as you let me!!
ETA and that loop on the back side doesn't wiggle loose?

It is a bit twisted, and I dont see whay you could not reverse it.
Here is another thought. Someone might want to try slipping the first stitch AFTER you wrap, as well. I did not want to try too many things at once, becuase I wanted to know which one was the key.
And just think, all this because I dropped my wrap one time!

Me again :brow - slip which stitch after the wrap which way - the one in the short row as you knit back or the one that's not in the short row - to the left or the right of the stitch you wrap?

Julia, I am sorry I missed your first post there, we must have been cross posting. I am right/left impaired. the wrap was to the RIGHT, the one I hold a pencil with. So, with your RH needle, left that wrap onto teh LH needle.
And, yes, you want the STITCH to be on top. This avoids that give away line, see? If the wrap is in front, it's going to end up looking like this _ when your stitches look like this \/
You can order that yarn any time you are ready.
Nope, the loop on the back does not get looser. In fact, as I have work the piece, the naturl handling ha caused it to disappear even more.
As for slipping.........I have not tried this, so you are assuming all the risk here. But slip as normal, and wrap. Turn. Then slip that first stitch that you normally would work. So it would be a stitch in your short row.

I just tried it and got a hole :?
how loose was your wrap?
ETA I reworked it and went up a couple of rows and there's still a hole. I think I'm doing it like the pictures but who knows? I have to get back to my pants (was trying this on another soaker) but next time I'll try slipping another stitch.

Fairly loose
I don't know why you are getting a hole. How are you wrapping?

Fairly loose, ok, mine was pretty darn tight. I'm slipping purl wise, putting yarn between needles to the back, slip the stitch back, then bring the yarn back in front (then turn work around and knit back).
I'm going to attempt to post pictures, but my camera STINKS, especially with closeups, so you might not even be able to tell what you're looking at :goodgrief

:faint OMG we use the same kind of stitch markers!!!!!!
I LOVE the colorway, is that snips and snails? If I ever have some splurge money I might get some :brow

Yes, it's snip and snails!
I tell you what I'll do ladies. I'll take pics again when I do short rows again. Mybe the pics that got cut off will help those of you still struggling with this. The first one was pretty important, as it showed teh wrap still in place. I suspect it will be a few days though.
