I've been lurking here for a while now and I've finally registered...this is my first post here. I'm making Seth a pair of wool longies (no pattern, just going for it) I'm making them on a sz 10 16" circular needle. The ribbing at the top was done on a sz 8 16" circular needle. I'm to the darn legs now and I went to my local yarn hang-out to get a 12" size 10 circular (addi preferably) and the lady says they don't make them???? She says that sz 9 is the largest gauge in 12". The WHOLE body is done on these darn things...I HATE SEAMS! I am terrible at them...I REALLY wanted to circular knit these...do any of you ladies know where I can find a sz 10 12" needle??? I'll use any brand. I do NOT want to :pezfrog these and re-knit them on a 9 just so I can use the addi needle. Thanks in advance!

You could get one more 16" and knit in the round with 2 circulars, or 1 40" with the magic loop method.

Go for the Magic Loop! You'll never turn back :)

why not just use DPNs? Cheaper than the circs, for sure :thumb

Are you using 16" addis? If so, you may well be able to knit each leg on the 16" circulars-- I did 10" legs on my 16" addis. Cast off half the stitches onto something else and then try knitting the remaining leg stitches with the 16". Remember that it may take a couple of rounds until the stitches can stretch enough to go around. If it truly looks like it's not going to work, then all you have to do is rip out 3 or 4 rows or whatever you've knit.
Try it! Especially before DPN (sorry Theresa ;)

Thanks for the ideas, everyone! I ended up just switching to my 12" #9 and knitting LOOSE and just making them a pair of shorts with no ribbing on the end. Just let them "curl" in stockinette. I'll post a picture when I'm done with the other leg. THANKS!!
