Anyone done the LTK Hybrid Rib yet?

It's got a 2" waistband, then is supposed to have a 16" rise (for the medium). In all of Theresa's other patterns, the rise begins under the drawstring, but this one doesn't have a drawstring. The body says "work 5.5" in stockinette", so I did 5.5" after the 2" waistband. Actually, I added 1/2" to that to add an inch to the rise to make sure it covered a nighttime CD bum.

The darn thing has a 20.5" rise! And that doesn't include the 2" waistband. So you could say it has a 24.5" rise. Umm, not even the thickest night dipe needs that much coverage :)

It looks like I should have included the waistband in the 5.5" of body, but can anyone validate me here?

Off to go find that thread explaining how to tear out the top of the cover to remove inches of rise...

I'm pretty sure in all of her patterns, the rise is measured from the cast-on edge.

I don't have the wrap pattern, but with her other patterns that I do have, the measurement is taken from the cast on edge.

Her regular soaker I always measured from the cast-on edge. It's Stella's pattern that doesn't include the waistband in the rise.

Yep, what they all said, the rise in all my patterns is from the cast on edge (very top) not from under the ribbing, LOL.

Sorry if I sound snarky now, but I don't know what the heck I have to do to make this point clearer,LOL! it's always been a sticking point and I've gotten tons and tons of emails about it, so I've got inthe soaker pattern from the cast on edge Is there any other way for me to write it to have it clearer? Seriously, if there is someone PLEASE tell me so I can fix it!!!!

The hybrid rib doesn't say "from the cast on edge". It's because you've always made that so obvious before that I assumed it was different when it didn't say that. It says "do X inches in stockinette" in the last instruction on pages 2 and 6.

ah-ha, I'll have to go back in and make that clearer, I figured since there wasn't a drawstring (which is where people usually want to measure fromf or some reason) that it wouldn't be an issue. I should know better by now :LOL
