Hi!!
I was wondering if any one knew were I could find a free pattern for a small hat--or some thing easy. I'm a brand-new knitter and I'm taking Pam's pants class. I want a little experience before the class starts Nov. 1st. I can cast on, make stitches and very slowly purl...but that's it. So, if you know some thing free and easy...could you link me? :lookroun:
Thanks in advance. :bighug

You can also check Lion Brand's site. They have free patterns on there, too.

This is what I did, and I started it in the same yarn for my soaker, then started a wide "stripe" with natural color yarn and did the heart pattern in this stripe with my soaker yarn, and then continued in the continued the stripe, then restarted the soaker color...
So I did something like this:
With same color as soaker (color A)
C.O. 72 st. . Stockinette st 16 rounds,
Switch to natural color (color B).
Stockinette St 4 more rounds in color B.
Work 6 rounds Stonckinette St with heart pattern in Color A.
Work 4 more rounds in color B.
Switch back to color A adn finish hat pattern.
Does this make sence?
Or to confusing for a newbie?? Sorry...

I would say for a newbie do the hat above, but don't add the hearts. All you really have to do is knit in the round, around and around, then decrease. Very simple, nothing too tricky. I haven't tried the LTK hat, but I have knit one similiar to the on mentioned above, only without the hearts.
