keppie frustration!!!

I'm trying to make this cap for a friend 'cuz I love it, and I'm not savvy enough to get alot of the instructions without help. I'm on the 11th row of directions for the "snowflake" design and I'm not getting the slip marker part, and how I'm going to end up with 48 sts from the 36 that I started with! Help me, PLEASE!!

So the line of the pattern reads:

Row 11: (slip marker, k1, YO, knit to marker, YO) [48 stitches]

slip marker means just move the marker from the right needle to the left.
the increases are the YO - yarn overs.

There is a video in the lower right hand side of the page that shows how to do a yarn over. Does that help?
