I know LTK and F&F are working on new knitted wraps. But has anyone tried this one? Maybe a future knitalong?

I guess it's the new thing. I have 3 more inches left to go on the wrap pattern I'm designing for the girls.

I tried it. Keep in mind I am a new knitter and haven't actually used a wool soaker yet. (So, not sure my opinion is worth much)

I made it for my daughters doll to try on :-)

It seemed a little wide in the crotch area. I'd like to see one that is more hourglass diaper shaped. However, some of you more experienced users may tell me that I am completely wrong. :?

Feel free :)

I have a phobia when it comes to buttons. All I can imagine is choking hazard and God forbid something ever did happen..how about using applix/velcro?? I think that would be much safer, and yes, I would like to try this in a knit-a-long!!

Honestly, I think the fear of buttons is a bit uneccesary, LOL ;) My kids' baby clothes all had little buttons on them (not the stuff I made, I'm talking about store bought things) I've never heard of a baby choking. Just make sure the buttons are sewn securely, and check them when you put it on, yk?

Theresa, did you sell a wrap at Universal Mama yet?

I would think buttons with 2 or 4 holes in them rather than one loop thing underneath for the hole would be safer. Think dress shirt buttons...

nope, but willhave one up this coming week :) I fianlly have gotten reviews in from testers and put excerpts up on my site. I'm shocked at how much everyone liked them, I kinda figured they'd need some tweaking but eeryone who tested the wraps loved 'em. Now, when my pattern testers get through with me, that might be a different story, LOL ;)

well i never saw that before now, but that looks similar to the one i totally made up by myself LOL. only mine is a one size side buttoning wrap. uggh i need to get moving on that project. i had so many nice mamas offer up their chilren to be testers. perhaps after the fluff factory auctions i will contact everyone again and get the ball rolling on this.

Wouldn't velcro/aplix whatever get stinky? or snag it?

I like velcro in a wrap, but haven't been able to overcome these two questions yet. Anyone ever use it?

Something I've been wondering about........
I would need to use a snappi or pins under the wrap right?
Would that be too bulky?

I'm in that awkward pregnancy nesting stage where I don't have a baby to try things out on yet, so I just spend enormous amounts of time thinking about these things.

Greg's 7 mos old (but not crawling yet) and I still use the wrap I did for him with just laying the prefold in. I think once they start to crawl, pretty much any wrap needs the prefold pinned or snappi'd underneath cause if not the diaper has a tendency to sink down to th ebottom (at least, that was always my experience with the prowraps and bummis I had with my other two, LOL!)

But, the pins/snappi have never added any bulk for me. In fact, I think they make it trimmer becuase you can pull teh prefold snug and tight and i't'll actually stay that way, LOL ;)
