Got my addis!!!

4 different 40 inch. I ordered on last Wed, they arrived today (monday). One is backordered but I'm tickled they sent the rest!! Less than $35, shipped!!

Been thinkin about this... That's about what I would pay for 4 pairs of Clover bamboos! I wanna try addis, but I'm stuck on bamboo! Gotta go find the thread so I can see if they had the bamboo ones.

I got mine Saturday too. We ordered 4 different ones but only rec'd three....I assume one was back ordered for our order as well~

What size was back ordered for you? Ours was the 5.50 mm/ 100 cm that we need for the WW class starting NOV 1st hopefully they come soon :pink

I did get mine today!! Unfortunately they sent the wrong size for one of them by mistake - an 8 instead of a 9. I was hoping to get started on my chunky yarn next week while we're away. Do you think I should hang onto the 8's and re-order 9's or just send them back? Is there much call for 8's?

Also, are we positive that these are turbos??? I only ask because I've never seen turbos up close and personal before but it doesn't say turbos anywhere on the package and the packaging is different than at my LYS. They still feel a million times better than my cheapy Wal-Mart needles though!!! :pink

Do tend to knit loose? If so the 8s may work. If not I would do a return - esp. since it is their error they should foot the bill.

Good question here....I am not sure. I've never seen Addis Turbos up close or in normal packaging either.

All it says on the pkg is Addi Made in Germany and Premium of course I don't know what Schoner stricken means in German that is noted on the packaging too. Maybe that means Turbo somehow :chin

I do know that packaging is different. The Addis from Asia have different packaging.

I have an addi that Jmo let me borrow, it's in similar but not identical packaging. She purchased it at her US LYS and these needles are the same! The length/size is listed on the cable, the cables are flexible and wonderful. I am assured, upon comparing them, that they are the same.

Pam's new pattern line, the Faux Cable Collection, calls for 8s with the Peace Fleece ;)

It was me - I made the original post. I hope she gives me a discount on my next order for so many referrals. Glad you're all happy with your needles.

I'd keep the 8s it might help if you try to use a substitute wool like I do all the time.

Ok, now I am confused too!
Can someone take a picture of Asian Addi's (package aswell) so I can compare then to my German ones? I ran across 2 differently packaged types of addis on my hunt for a size 6 40" pair for a lady on this forum this week.
I have some now that are the German kind. These ROCK! :dance They have a white cardboard back to the package. Letters in gold. Sticker on it in blue with a heart in the I instead of a dot.
Is the Asian kind in a black package? I think with silver letters?

Oh and Schoner stricken is nice knitting in English.

If you want the 8's their yours but I'm going to have to ask you what I paid and shipping because otherwise I can just send them back to the store and have them replaced. Or I would totally be up for a trade if you have any addis you are looking to get rid of, particularly in size 7 or 9. Or maybe some yarn?

They are identical needles to the ones purchased by jmo in the USA.

Yes I did contact them to ask. Tess said they rec'd a shipment in on 10/26 that had my needles in it. She said they s/b out within a week so I s/b receiving them in the mail this week.

She also said their orders vary on what they actually receive in on the Addis. It sounds like its a pot pourri order they get....a little of this and a little of that.

I got some 12" addi's today from Germany. 4 for only 29 dollars, would have wanted 5, but the 5mm 12" werent available at the moment.

these are in the black packaging with white and gold letters.
The 12"s are funny! They are bent in the metal part, but they work great!

YAY! Now I can finally properly finish those narrow legs!
