If I want to dye my soaker, do I dye the yarn before I knit, or dye the soaker once it's done?

Any links to kool-aid dyeing instructions would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

There are also a couple threads (sorry, too tired to find them for ya right now) that talk about how well/poorly garment dyes have come out. regardless of how well it turns out (and I've had both good results and, uh, not) it's still nervewracking to dye something you've put hours of labor into already... Most people find they prefer yarn dyeing because of that.

But then, I'm usually super impatient and get started with undyed yarn anyway!
