Payment plans for membership

Pam.... would you be willing to consider a payment plan? I would like to be able to do the highest membership, but won't be able to make that lump payment all at once. Have you considered this? Of course, if it is going to a premier account, I would pay all the fees....

Hmm.. interesting thought Meredith... I hadn't considered it.

How many payments would it be? The thing is, how could I be confident that the person would make all the payments? They could commit to the lifetime, then get the 'rewards' and not follow through on it, for whatever reason.

I might be inclined to let people join at a lower level with the option, within say, 3 or 6 months, to boost to a higher level by paying the balance?

Does that sound reasonable? I'll have to think it over. :chin

Pam, have you thought about having "spouse" plans or should only one of us be a member? Liam forced me to make my own account here b/c he claimed I was resetting all his forum "new message" views and I think he thinks I'm too obnoxious or something to be speaking under his account ... ;)

I wouldn't let someone who said they were going for the highest membership get those benefits until they "paid" into them... so if I gave you $ 50, then I get the $ 50 membership, and until I pay you the whole amount, then I only receive that benefit at that level.

I can see where it would be confusing after a while, maybe... when you have people just adding money and adding money... but if you have someone in charge of that aspect (no, not me!), you might be able to pull it off?

Pam a membership "upgrade" would be easy, as long as the member jumped levels fully. Ex. paid $15 to upgrade from friend to super friend.
A payment of $5 would be much harder to track.
Something else to consider is the term of membership (would an upgrade update the start date to the date of upgrade payment?).
