Does anyone have advice for the best way to do this? I'm not sure the pattern instructions give me enough direction - I have a mental block about all the pesky finishing stuff. :-)

I was lazy and didn't sew mine up right after finishing them and it was warm weather anyways at the time - so I put it off. Two years later and I still haven't sewed them up and I wear them all the time. lol I don't even notice the holes and they don't let any cold in, so I haven't bothered. I didn't even weave in the ends on the inside. They are inside the finger tubes keeping my fingers extra warm.

Man...I am soooo lazy.

hahah! patti!!!

So here's my suggestion. You know how a drawstring in sweatpants works? I imagine the tail as a tiny drawstring. I catch little bits in a circle around the opening and cinch it tight. Maybe go around one more time in the same holes. Then loop through the back of a couple stitches and that's it.

The less the better.

Also: If you do the finishing for the main fingers before you add the thumb or just shortly after, it's waaaaaay easier. Do it before the cuff if you can! That part of the directions got cut from the final published copy, I think?
