Embellishments

I have yet to attempt embellishment, but that's my next stop on the soaker band wagon. Do tell, what supplies/techniques do you use? Most appears to be embroidery... where do you come up with the designs? Are there patterns designed for embroidering into knit stitches or do you make them up? What kind of thread/needles do you use?

Is that enough questions for one post?? :lol: :lol: :lol:

Well, Pam led me to Nicky Epstein's Knitted Embellishments book.... GREAT book.

That is about as much info as I can give you. I am sure the embellishing gurus will have much more to add than that!!

We need a pimp icon!!!!!!! WAH!!!!! YAY!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Imagine the most hyper nervous little dog you know... give him a chocolate bar and a cup of coffee... that is how excited I am about that class!!!!

I'm just making my first attempt at embellishment. I made the embellishments for the pair of soaker pants that I'm currently working on, because I was afraid if I didn't do them first, I'd not want to do them afterwards. I'm going to make a simple design by stiching i-cord to the butt and adding about 4 stitches of embroidery to complete the design. I also made a few leaves using a pattern that you can find in epstein's book or in dozens of other books to add to the design. i'm sure I'll post pics when I'm done ;)

I just make up the embellishments as they are requested. I just use a basic tapestry needle and I embellish after the soaker is complete.
