Hello! I heard from a friend that this is the place to be, so here I am! Unfortunately, I can't stand knitting, but I do love to crochet. Knitting just takes too darned long - I'm too impatient for all that knitting and purling - I'll take a fpdc anyday! ;)

Anywho, the reasons I don't get to crochet much these days are 2 years (Beth) and 8 months (Dominic). My first soakers were LTK and they turned out great, but I hate knit, so I made my own crochet pattern and love it. I can make a crochet soaker in 2 naptimes, but a knit one takes me about a weeks worth of naps.

So where do all the mommas who crochet only hang out? :D

Well, I can no longer say I crochet only (as of a week and 2.5 soakers ago!), but it is my first and greatest love.

:w and I'll see you in the hooker's forum!

I wish I had the patience to learn to crochet!!! My niece goes at it like noone's business, and I have heard so many say they like it better than knitting.

:wave Welcome!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. As for books, I don't remember which one I used since it was so long ago - it was some paperback manual with blue pages - that's all I remember. lol Maybe check out your local library and see what they have. You can always learn a lot from patterns too. Some pattern booklets come with pictures and/or directions for the different stitches needed and you just learn as you go. I learned all the fancy stitches that way.

Stick with it! I used to hate to knit for the same reason, but I've gotten faster & now I love it. Be sure to get to the crochet forum!

Well how about that. I've been a member since day one and have been a big time slacker about posting, and here my first recruit has intro'd before me. :)
Welcome, Patti!

I guess I'll go intro myself now.
