Any thoughts? I got mine yesterday and I really like the pattern, but am not sure about the yarn...so that mean Patti you will probably love it as we seem to be opposite :sunshine
Have you guys gotten yours yet and if so, what do you think?

Yeah, but I don't want to spoil it for everyone if they haven't received their kits yet...

Got mine, I'm disappointed in the yarn (seriously? :P) but willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, and unsure about the pattern (haven't read it all through). And the "little extra" thing? Yikes. :P

I hate the yarn. There. I've said it. lol
I started on the pattern today (in a different yarn), but then saw that the cuff is worked back and forth and then you have to block it for 24 hours before you continue on. I'm betting this cuff rolls up like a mother when you wear these socks. So I said *uck that! and frogged it and started something else instead. lol
I actually like the little extra thing. lol It's the best thing I've gotten from them all year and the closest I'll ever get to a real one. ;)
ETA: Anyone want to buy the kit from me? - dyer's notes included (excluding the "extra thing" though) :P - $27ppd

I didn't get a pic of the pattern yet, but it's an anklet sock and the fold-over cuff is lace. I can get a pic tomorrow.

This blog has photos of the pattern: http://lotta.myblog.de/lotta/page/20429741/Rocking_Sock_Club_2007
I am pretty sure that I, too, hate the yarn. But, I am witholding my final judgement until I see more samples of it knitted up. Maybe it won't be so hideous?

Good luck with that. lol

Thanks :P I will probably not like it but I am trying to keep an open mind....
I have a major complaint about the quality of my skeins though, I keep getting ones with weird little twists in the yarn, lots of individual strands are twisted into little curley-cues or something. It's really weird and it kind of makes it untwist a little :(

I'm still not sure about the yarn either, I do not like the blue and brown in it. I do like the pattern (but I agree Patti I'm not thrilled about the block for 24 hours before continuing part). I'll probably gift them, my step mother would love them!
I was really hoping for a Cat Bordhi pattern... but I did get her new book so I shouldn't complain, I can just knit one of those.

I keep hoping Cookie A will design a pattern for this year's club.

I think the socks look cute in that pic linked above :) I think I might be the only one who actually likes the colors too (well, at least from pics, since I'm not a member)

I like the color too, but I'm not a member either. I don't like the sock pattern though, it looks granny-ish to me :::ducking:::

I don't mind the color at all...the pattern is fugly to me though. I have not worn fold over ankle socks since I was 4. *shudder*

OMG, I am not a club member, but yah, that pattern is ugly! Ugh - there are so many awesome sock patterns out there, why waste your time?

See, I really like the colors. The pattern, not so much.

I agree that the pattern is fugly as all get out.
Oh this is making me nervous about my next sockstars kit. It is due to ship in a week.
If anyone wants, LOL, I can get them some of the orange grove from my first sock kit..It is fuglier than this yarn.
(And if anyone doesn't believe me about that - the manager of the LYS isn't putting the extra skeins on the sales floor!!And friends of the woman who dyed the yarn call it her 'acid trip' yarn -b/c that is the only way they figure she came up with the colorway)

See I still like the pattern. I think the lace fold over part is sweet and delicate and would look cool with my Birks...different strokes for different folks!:)
