Thinking about getting addi circs.... 12" or 16" or both?

:chin I am wondering if 12" is going to be too small or some things... or do you think I can get by with 12" most of the time?

I think I am going to get sizes 8, 5, and 2

I think that smaller things you will fine with the 12s, but if I were you (and since you are going ot be doing this some more) you will want to get the 16s. Here is what I have: two 7s, one 8, one 9, two 4s, and one 6 all in 16". I just have 7 and 8 in 12" circs, and I only use those for the legs.

You will find with the 12" that your hands cramp up some, so I think you would be a much happier knitter getting the 16" in your main sizes, and then get the 12" in the size that you are going to be doing your bodies in, so you can do the legs.

I say get both 12" and 16", then you don't have to use dpns, you can just use the 2 circ method. :brow I *dispise* dpns, so this is what I have: (and I'm a :rightyho: mama)

7 - 12", 16", 24"
6 - 16", 24"
5 - 16, 24
4 - 16, 24
3 - 16, 24
2 - 16, 24

I have a 16" circular in size US 4 for my ribbing. Then I switch to magic loop for my body. I have 47" circulars in sizes US2-US11 (a package deal from patternworks). I use magic loop for EVERYTHING. That way I never have to buy more needles. :pink

OH! 12" Addi circs??? That's completely new to me. Any online source for that?? I like my 16"s but Id like some smaller ones too!

I want to get 12" in 3 & 4 for smaller waistbands, and size 7 for legs.
But what is the two circ method?

I'd get both too. I love the 12's for legs on pants, they rock!!!

yes do get the 16s too. I use my 16s for medium bodies and 12s for the legs. no dpns for me. someday I will leanr the magic loop and get a 40 :)
