If you want an alternative to sheep sweat aka lanolin :baa I've heard some wool manufacturers recommend using hair conditioner to soften. Haven't tried it myself, so I can't tell you whether it works.
Has anyone else heard of this or actually tried it?
btw, nothin' wrong with sheep sweat :wool (we wouldn't be here on this forum together if it weren't for its magical properties!) I just sometimes like pointing out whence lanolin actually comes. :sly:

yup, I've used conditioner with much luck to soften things up. I wouldn't do lanolin, it'll just make it sticky, not soft.
