I just checked out the main site and when I saw your everlasting soaker pattern I had to laugh. Here I had thought I was so clever because I had come up with a similiar design!

unventing is from Elizabeth Zimmerman (my modren hero)...basically, anything you think is new has probably already been tried given the long long long history of knitting.

Yeah, it means great minds think alike. I'm cracking up here.

Unventing makes sense. It's true that there are very few, if any, new ideas anymore!

Of course, I haven't yet mastered my pattern. The pants are fine, but the legs on the soakers are giving me problems.

I bought KWoT a couple years ago, but loaned it out before I read it and never got it back. Maybe it would be worth rebuying. I can't follow patterns but love knitting books.

I think we should start an official abbreviation list w/ GMTA on it. We can include the "great minds" definition if necessary....but I like the other one better!
